Product description
Rebel Power 12 V / 100 A VRLA-AGM lead-acid battery
VRLA-AGM lead-acid batteries have become an alternative to conventional lead-acid batteries. Unlike the latter, these models are maintenance-free. This means they do not require topping up with electrolyte. Their sealed casing and gel-form electrolyte are key advantages. This ensures that the electrolyte will not leak, so the battery can be kept in any position and is more resistant to vibrations.
Battery life
One of the biggest advantages of these batteries is their durability. Among those available on the market, this type has the longest lifespan – when used correctly, it can last for several years. Importantly, gel batteries are also more resistant to changing and extreme weather conditions.
Self-discharge (25°C) The batteries can be stored for many months without needing to be recharged. Their capacity will drop to: • 91% after 3 months • 82% after 6 months • 64% after 9 months
Choosing a gel battery The right dimensions aren’t everything. When choosing a battery, pay attention to its capacity – it should be no more than 110 per cent and no less than 90 per cent of the capacity recommended for the device you plan to power. The output voltage is also important, and its value must be very close to the recommended value (+/-0.2 V).
Battery applications Batteries are used, amongst other things, in motorbikes, golf trolleys and lawnmowers. They are also used in uninterruptible power supplies, photovoltaic installations, alarm systems and electric toys. Furthermore, these batteries can be found in cars with a large number of electrical devices; in such cases, they are not used to start the car, but to power the electronic devices.
Battery charger To ensure the charger functions correctly and does not damage the battery, it must be set to the appropriate current and voltage. These values will vary at different stages of charging, so it is worth choosing an automatic charger which not only adjusts the charging current and voltage to the correct levels but also switches off once the battery is fully charged.
Voltage: 12 V Capacity: 100 Ah Float voltage (25°C): 13.6–13.8 V
Cycle operation (25°C): 14.5 – 14.9 V Maximum inrush current: < 24 A Internal resistance (with fully charged battery, 25°C): 7 mOhm
Dimensions (L x W x H): 333 x 173 x 222 mm (+/- 2 mm) Weight: 24.5 kg
