The FIRE PAD worm represents a new generation of fire protection devices developed with reliability, safety and ease of installation in mind. Traditional fire-fighting devices often fail in small, confined or inaccessible spaces where there is an increased risk of overheating or electrical short circuit. The research team has therefore developed this high-tech product that fundamentally changes the existing approach to preventing and extinguishing fires in electrical installations.
In particular, the device is designed to protect switch cabinets, transformers, switches and other areas prone to electrical faults. Thanks to its compact size (2.5 x 8 cm) and integrated strong magnetic element, it can be placed directly into the protected equipment - typically at the highest point where overheating, sparking or arcing is most likely to occur.
The FIRE PAD worm operates on the principle of automatic activation when the temperature reaches 100 °C. At that point, it releases the extinguishing gas perfluorohexanone, which through a cooling effect reduces the temperature below the sustainable burning limit and immediately stops the spread of the fire. This process is highly efficient, fast and safe, with no secondary damage to equipment or risk to personal health.
Thanks to the magnetic attachment, no special tools or specialist personnel are required for installation. The FIRE PAD worm can be fixed in seconds and easily repositioned if necessary. This makes the FIRE PAD wormhole a practical solution not only for industrial applications, but also for modern technologies in the energy sector, data centres or electromobility.
