Product description
ECO Solar Boost EVO MPPT-4000 PRO Grid Hybrid Solar Inverter with LCD Display (AI Supported)
Looking for the best on the market for efficient and fully autonomous photovoltaic water heating? The ECO Solar Boost EVO PRO Grid series inverters represent a new generation of renowned and appreciated devices that allow the direct use of photovoltaic panels to power heating equipment.
This premium PRO range has been designed based on years of engineering experience and valuable customer feedback. In addition, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the design process has pushed the reliability and efficiency of the hardware to a cutting-edge level.
Key benefits:
Integrated LCD display: The PRO Grid version is equipped with a clear LCD display that provides detailed real-time information on PV installation parameters and operating modes.
Hybrid 24/7 operation (AC grid backup). If solar power is not available (e.g. at night or during heavy cloud cover when the voltage drops below 40 V), the inverter automatically switches to the grid circuit. As soon as the voltage on the panels rises above 80 V again, the system will seamlessly return to solar power. Your water will be warm regardless of the time of day.
The intelligent MPPT algorithm continuously optimises the amount of energy extracted from the PV panels and automatically adjusts the heater output to ensure that the inverter achieves maximum solar gain.
Improved low-light algorithm: The AC output, with a maximum of 16 A, has an advanced control with which the inverter delivers optimum performance even in low sunlight conditions such as sunrise and sunset.
What does the LCD display show?
- No more guessing. The integrated screen keeps you informed of current events and statistics:
- Current PV panel system voltage
- Current (electricity) generated by the PV panels
- Instantaneous output power delivered to the heating element
- Amount of energy generated for the current day
- Amount of energy produced for the previous day
- Total energy produced since the first start-up of the device
- In addition, the display shows text messages about operation and diagnostics (e.g. Zas. from the panel, Zas. 1 / 2, or warnings about overload, high temperature or too high/low voltage).
Intelligent management of two outputs (Priority system). Two mains sockets (outputs) can be found on the inverter chassis:
- Priority output (No. 1): the device connected to this output is always heated first. It is also the only one designed for heaters equipped with electronic controllers.
- Dependent output (No. 2): It starts automatically with a delay of a few minutes after the thermostat on the first device reaches the target temperature and disconnects the circuit. This output is only supported by heating devices equipped with a bimetallic thermostat.
- Thanks to this solution (e.g. when two boilers are connected), not a watt of solar energy is wasted, even if the first tank is already fully heated.
Installation and safety instructionsPanel cabling:
- Only use solar cables with a minimum cross-section of 4 mm2 to connect the panels to the inverter (via the integrated MC4 connectors). Weaker cables cause losses and risk fire.
- Strictly observe the correct polarity (+/-) when wiring - reversing the polarity will destroy the unit and void the warranty.
- Mains cables: the AC mains lead must have a cross section corresponding to a current load of 16 A (minimum 1.5 mm2, 2.5 mm2 recommended).
- Keep the output cable to the heater as short as possible.
- System protection: For safety reasons, supplement the solar DC circuit with two fusible link fuses (+/-), a surge protector and a corresponding DC disconnector.
- Cooling and installation.
- Never cover the ventilation openings and leave a clear space for air circulation: 20 cm at the sides and 50 cm at the top and bottom.
- Grounding: Be sure to ground the unit using the screw-on insulated pin on the chassis. If the heater does not have a protective conductor connected to its own enclosure, connect the heater enclosure to the inverter ground for perfect potential equalization.
- Isolation from the distribution network: The solar DC input or power AC output must never be directly connected to the distribution grid or to ground potential.
Technical specifications and requirements for the PV systemSupported panel output:
- Requires several standard PV panels of 400-700 W connected in series or series-parallel.
